刀币是春秋战国时期的青铜铸币之一。其形由春秋时期的农具、手工工具和日常用具——刀演变而成。种类不一,按其文字或形状,有齐刀、即墨刀、安阳刀、潭邦刀、针首刀、炎首刀、明刀、平首刀、直刀等。主要流通于春秋战国时期的齐、燕、赵等国。齐刀是齐国货币。币面文字带“齐”字的,有三字刀、四字刀和六字刀。三字刀为“齐法化 (货)”。四字刀为“齐之法化”。六字刀为“齐造邦长法化”。“齐”指齐国都城临淄。币面文字不带“齐”字的,有即墨刀、安阳刀和潭邦刀。
